"Come on, man. What can a little more paint hurt? This ball park is already run down. You didn't have a problem at Whitney Park or trashing the alley behind Franklin High. Plus, there ain't no cops here tonight. Ole Stan's already made his rounds past here. Come on. Trey is almost done defiling the dugouts. We got other places to hit tonight. You gonna do it or not?" Casey had no reservations when it came to tearing up the town. He'd narrowly escaped jail twice in the past six months. Yet he found himself cringing internally as his friends wreaked havoc on Eddie Nickels Ball Park. Unknown to his friends, Eddie Nickels was Casey's father.

This is a story about a guy who is in too deep with some unsavory people. He gets accused for murder and has to deal with the memories of his baseball playing father's death and the consequences of his own illegal actions. I was impressed at how all the elements pulled together and I loved his epiphany in relation to baseball, which felt very true for me. Casey's character had a lot of depth and true reasons for his motives and actions, which help the story feel richer. Once Casey was pulled into the police station, I had to keep reading to find out how it ended. A great short story about redemption, hope and living a full life.

The Third Strike edition by Stephanie Myers Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

It was a good story After Stephanie's previous book, which was amazing, "The Third Strike" was simplistic and missed a good proof read.
I did like this short story but it seemed unfinished to me. Still a good story. Really like this author.
I thought this book was okay.
Probably not up to Stephanie's usual standard but was interesting enough to keep you reading it.
Not a bad short story.
Fun, short story.
It is more of an idea, really. It is interesting, but not very well developed. There are things that happen without cause or reason explained, such as how was the man killed. Or why did Casey think it might have been a drug overdose in spite of the body being buried?
It hasn't been edited, either.
This story had me hooked from the start. It is about a boy named Casey, whose famous baseball player father was killed by a drunk driver when he was young. Now at seventeen he has become involved with other trouble making teens. Casey gets accused of murdering the man who killed his father, and has to figure out a way to prove his innocence. Once I got to the part where Casey was arrested, I could not put it down. A must read if you enjoy murder mysteries!
the plot is very predictable, which was very disappointing considering I read the entire vampire line..twice......and the third strike was very short..the host was excellent. I am still looking forward to the seeker..next in line after the host..always/pegsmouse1
